Welcome To Our Masquerade - Ch. Five - DP Story

“I have a few questions to ask you.” Divina stated not even fazed by Danny’s sudden appearance in her
room.

Danny nodded sitting himself down on her bed so he’d be comfortable. He awaited Divina’s questions ready to answer her, the best he could.

Divina leaned against the back of her chair, as she sat in it the opposite way her fingers messed with her pajama pants. Her gaze was elsewhere, as she spoke. “I’m sure you were confused as to why that ghost attacked me last week.” She gave a quick glance to Danny, before turning away again. This was hard for Divina, as she’s never told anyone about her family’s problems. In fact, they had cut off a lot of other relations in fear of them getting harmed as well.

Danny noted her nervousness, and chooses to interrupt her quickly. “Divina you can tell me anything.”

She studied him from the corner of her eye watching him closely. She then turned fully to him giving him a thoughtful glance. “You look a lot like Danny from school.”

Danny was surprised by this, but kept his cool. “I get that a lot.”

Divina scrutinized him, before letting it go.  “Well any way I talked with my parents about the situation, and the only thing that makes sense is that; the man my father use to work for sent the ghost after us.”

Divina paused.  “My father use to be in a gang a mafia whatever you want to call it. My father was accused of foul play, or stealing something from them. I’m really confused with it all I know my mother tried to get him to leave the group, before this kind of thing happened. So, we moved here hoping we could start anew.”

Divina gazed up to Danny her eyes shone with desperation.  “I don’t like bringing other people into our problems, but there’s no way we could survive if the ghost comes back. Danny may we use your help in protecting us from this ghost?”

Danny watched Divina a moment longer, before grinning.  “I’ll do better than protect I’ll defeat him.  No problem.”

Divina was surprised, though she wasn’t sure why. She had a feeling he’d agree anyway.  She exhaled not realizing she’d held her breath awaiting his reply.  “Thank you Danny.  It means a lot I’ll repay you, I swear!”

Danny chuckled.  “You’re welcome, and you don’t have to repay me. I’d hate to see a friend go through this kind of situation.”

Divina smiled with meaning, and boy did it feel good to smile like that. It was refreshing to her, and somehow Danny knew it helped with her mood.

“Is there anything else before I leave?” Danny asked her to which she shook her head.

“No, but if there is I’ll just ask school Danny when I see him.”

Danny nodded, as he stood from his seat.  “Alright then, have a good night Divina.”

“See you around, Danny Phantom.” She grinned, as Danny sheepishly grinned.

Divina watched him jump out of her window, and fly off into the night. She actually felt like she were in a comic strip, and was just visited by the famous town hero. She had hope in him, and that made her mood a content one. She was able to sleep well that night.

In the morning Divina’s parents noticed Divina was in a happier mood than the night before. When they all sat down to eat a quick breakfast her mother asked; “It’s so nice to see you happy again, what put you in such a mood?”

She was expecting the cause was from a boy, since she mentioned a boy asked her out. Though both parents weren’t expecting what came from their daughter’s mouth when she replied;  “I talked to Danny Phantom. He said he’d help us out with the ghost that’s after us.”

At this her father frowned. “I thought I asked you to bring him to me?”

Divina’s smile faded, as she faced her father.  “Well you were already in bed. Danny had shown up late last night.”

Her mother was a bit worried about this. “What if this other ghost works for Cainan?”

“He told me-“

“Just because he told you he’d help doesn’t mean he is all good.” Her told Divina, a little upset for not being able to meet this ghost hero.

“How can he work for that man, when he’s been in this city helping with other ghosts?”

“Let’s just drop it for now. If you see the ghost hero again tell him I want to talk with him.”

With that said, Divina’s father left the table. Divina’s mood crashed, and now felt close to depressed. Her mother sat beside Divina, and wrapped her arms around her child in hopes it’ll calm her down. Divina could only give a small smile to show her appreciation towards her mother.

The day went by slow. Divina sat down at the lunch table with her food, however she only poked at it not feeling like eating. She was too wrapped up in her thoughts to listen in to the groups whining, or gossip of the day. Star snapped her fingers in front of Divina’s face trying to bring her back to reality.

“Earth to Divina, are you still home?”

Divina glanced to all of them. “I’m sorry did you say something?”

“Are you feeling well Divina? You look a little pale, and you haven’t eaten any of your food, or said a single word since you sat down.” Star stated, giving Divina a worried glance.

Divina waved off Star’s worry, as she scooped up some of her food. “I have a lot on my mind today. That’s all.”

“I take it that it’s all bad stuff?” Kwan asked her.

“You could say that.” Divina answered shoving her fork of food in her mouth.

“Will you want to call off the date tomorrow then?” Dash asked giving Divina a worried glance.

Divina didn’t bother looking at Dash, but answered him.  “No, at this point I’d like to at least hang out after school tomorrow. Going straight home after school is no fun.”

Dash smiled, and wrapped an arm around her. “Alright then I’ll make sure to keep your mind off of home while we’re out.”

Divina smiled, almost giggling at Dash’s attempt to cheer her up. “Thanks Dash, I appreciate it.”

“No problem anything for you, Divina!” Dash grinned.

Danny sat not too far away, as he listened into Divina’s conversation with Dash’s crew.  He was worried, just last night Divina was happy, content.  But, now she looked so depressed, so alone.

“Yo Danny, are you going to eat that?” Tucker asked not quite noticing that Danny’s attention was elsewhere.

Sam flicked Danny’s forehead causing said man to turn to hi friends. “Ow why’d you do that for, Sam?”

“You keep looking away when we’re trying to talk to you, man.” Tucker answered.

“What’s the deal?” Sam asked feeling a little jealous that Danny’s attention was focused on Divina. Not that she wanted all of his attention, but ever since that girl moved in that’s all Danny’s worried about. It’s starting to take a toll on Sam.

“Sorry. I’m distracted.”

“Yea, we can tell.” Sam said with a sarcastic tone.

Danny turned to Sam, confused with her tone. “What? Am I missing something here?”

“I think you’ve got that wrong. You’re not telling us something.” Sam answered a little irritated.

Danny raised his hands in defense, while apologizing.  “Sorry I should have told you guys.  I talked with
Divina last night. You know, as my ghost self. I found out why that ghost was after her, and more. It turns out that her father got himself in some trouble which caused Divina and her mother to get involved. She said he used to be in a gang, and he was accused of doing something against them. So that’s why they’re here, along with the ghost.”

“That’s messed up.” Tucker commented giving a sympathetic look towards Divina.

“She asked if I could help. I mean Danny Phantom.” Danny corrected himself.

“So, are you  going to help?” Tucker asked.

Danny turned to Tucker. “Of course I am. I’m not going to sit back, while there’s a ghost threatening a family, especially one of our school mates.”

“Well, what can you do to help them, Danny?” Sam asked not bothering to look at her boyfriend.

Danny noted this, and felt his heart skip a beat. Was Sam jealous?  “The same as any other ghost we’ve faced. I have a feeling this one will be as strong as my future self.”

“We can do it.” Tucker said crossing his arms.

“Okay so, let’s say you defeat the ghost. What if the gang comes in, and targets you next? You don’t know what you’re dealing with!” Sam told Danny frowning deeply.

Danny took hold of Sam’s hand, and squeezed it. “It’ll be okay Sam. It can’t be as bad as Dan.”

“You don’t know that. We all don’t know that.” Sam was still convinced that this was a very bad idea.

“There’s no getting out of it anyway. We’ve already faced him, and he should know that if he comes around this city I’ll be there to kick his ass.”

Sam was quiet knowing Danny was right. Tucker sat quietly for a moment longer, before finally speaking up.

“Danny, are you going to eat your cake?”

“What?” Danny glanced down at his tray to see his chocolate cake. “Of course I am! You already had one!”

Sam rolled her eyes, as the two got into their usual food argument. They always have to break the tension when it gets thick around them. Sam smiled, as she thought this.

Welcome To Our Masquerade Chapter Four - Danny Phantom

The weekend went by quickly, but quietly for Divina and her family. No sign of the evil ghost, and no sign of Danny Phantom. Divina sighed, as she opened her locker to set her things inside.  She couldn't figure out why it was so hard to find the town's hero.  Divina hadn't even pulled her text books out for her first class when Dash and his group walked up. Dash of course, wrapped an arm around Divina as he gave her his
'charming' look.

"Divina, we missed you at the party Friday night."

Divina gave him an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry I missed out. We still had some unpacking to do. Maybe next time?"

Dash chuckled giving Divina a friendly squeeze. "Of course! No need to apologize! Perhaps we can hang out after school today?"

Dash had leaned in towards Divina when he asked her this, which caused Divina to lean back away, but
kept her smile. "Sure, that sounds awesome."

"Great! Meet us out front when you're ready."

"Okay Dash."

With that, the group walked leaving Divina to herself again.  Divina pulled her books from her back, along with her small pencil box, and shut the locker.  She jumped when shutting the locker Danny was waiting to talk to her.  Her hand flew up to hold her chest above her heart, and took a few deep breaths.

"Danny. You scared me." She chuckled after recovering from the surprise.

Danny chuckled, as his hand rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about that. I was just wondering if you had a good weekend?"

Divina raised a brow, but answered him. "Yea, it was a quiet weekend. My parent's and I are offically moved in! We got everything unpacked."

"That's good to hear." Danny laughed at Divina's excitement.

Divina nodded smiling wide to Danny, but the smile soon faded. Danny caught this.

"What's wrong?" Danny asked giving her a worried glance.

"Well, I was wondering..." Divina started shuffling  her feet a bit. "You seem to know Danny Phantom well. "

"That's right." Danny said nodding his head.

"Well Danny, I don't mean to put you in the middle of this, but could you ask him if it'd be alright to talk to him? I need to ask him something."

Divina gave Danny a look that he couldn't quite read. She looked as if she was trying to hide something. She almost looked... Afraid.

"It's no problem. I can tell him for you. Where would you like him to meet you at?"

Divina quickly pulled a blank page from her journal, and wrote down an address, then handed it him.  "Tell him to meet me at this address when he can."

Danny stared down at the paper, before turning his attention back to Divina. He nodded to her. "No problem."

"Thank you Danny." Divina gave him a small hug, before rearranging her books. "We better get to class."

"Y-Yea. I'll see you later."

"Bye Danny!"

Danny watched Divina race off towards her classroom, as his two friends walked up beside him.  "Did she just give you her address?"

Tucker asked, trying to see what was on the paper. Danny turned to his two friends.

"I think so. Maybe now we can figure out a little more about what's going on."

"Right. Let's hurry to class then." Tucker said, as he turned on his heel to head to the classroom.

Sam and Danny rolled their eyes, not wanting to go to class. They'd rather be somewhere else, enjoying the nice weather.

After school Divina, and the others went to Nasty Burger for an after school snack or meal. Divina sat by the window, while Dash sat on her other side, blocking her way. Star, Kwan, and Paulina sat on the other side of the booth, all five of them were waiting for their food or drinks to come out. Divina had busied herself with homework, while the others gossiped about happenings in school. Dash glanced over to Divina, noticing she was quiet.

"Why are you doing homework here? Why not wait till you're home?" Dash asked, leaning over her shoulder to see what she was writing down.

"Well, I figured it was a good oppurtunity to get some of it done while I wait. I'm not appearing rude, am I?"
Divina asked Dash blinking up at him.

Dash laughed placing an arm around Divina again. "Of course not! I was just curious!"

"Oh." Divina said blushing a bit.

"You look so cute when you blush!" Dash complimented Divina, who just blushed more.

"T-Thanks."

The waitress comes back to the table with all of their orders, and passes them out to everyone. "Enjoy!"

Divina took a sip of her Coca Cola, as she stuffed her homework away so it wouldn't get messy. She sat back and listened in to their conversations this time, every once in a while adding a comment or two.

"So," Star started to say. "Who here thinks Divina and Dash look like the perfect couple?"

Paulina and Kwan quickly agreed, though Paulina had to mention about her dates with the football player.

"Wait-" Divina starting blushing again. "You aren't trying to hook us up, are you Star?"

"No! Of course not! We are going to hook you two up! You're better with Dash than with that Fenton boy."

"Fenton boy? You mean Danny?" Divina asked.

"Uh, yea." Star said flipping her hair out of her face.

"No, you got it wrong. Danny is with Sam. I am only friends with him. He's helped me out, the same with
Dash. But, that doesn't mean you have to hook me up with Dash!"

"Are you rejecting him?" Paulina asked, a bit of attitude in her tone.

Divina wanted to slap her palm to her forehead. This was getting ridiculous.

Dash, his arm still around Divina, pulls her closer to his chest. "Alright, will you go out with me, Divina?"

"We-We just met Friday! Why would you ask so quickly?"

"There's no problem in going out on a harmless date. Right?"

Divina bit her bottom lip, as she stared up at Dash. "Well, I guess it'll be okay. You guys are just full of surprises." Divina laughed nervously.

"Don't tell me you never dated any boys back where you use to live?" Star asked Divina, sounding horrorfied.

"Well, I dated one guy before. But, that relationship ended not so well." Divina said, as she nervously played with the bottom of her shirt.

"Don't worry, Divina! I'm sure I'm the perfect guy for you!" Dash said, throwing his thumb at his chest proudly.

'Right.' Divina thought. "Well, okay. I'll give us a try. When would you like to have this date?"

"You pick, when and where would you like to have our date?"

"How about Wednesday night? I don't know any good places to go on a date around here, so I'll let you pick it out."

Dash grinned. "Sounds like a date!"

Dash and his friends started laughing, while Divina wanted so desperately to disappear from this situation.

Later that night; it was about eight o'clock when Danny came through Divina's window. Divina sat at her desk, scribbling at her homework, as she worked on it. Feeling a presence in the room, Divina glanced over her shoulder her eyes widening as they laid upon Danny Phantom's form.

"Sorry for not knocking, but I was told you wanted to talk to me?"

Divina turned around in her chair, and nodded. "Yes. I have a few questions to ask you."

DanxDivina Oneshot - Spoiler Alert!

Danny stood before Divina his arms crossed in an aggrivated way.  His eyes were stern, but full of concern.

"You can't be with him, Divina. He is evil."

Divina's eyes widened for a moment, before replying; "What?"

"Don't play dumb, Divina. You know exactly who I'm talking about."

"You mean Dash?"

"Dan! I saw you with him! Divina, he is evil. He will only hurt you."

"I-" She started. "I am not with him."

"You may not be with him, but you need to get rid of him. If he messes with you call me. I'll come save you."

"Alright."

"I mean it, Divina. He's bad news."

"Right."

"So, what did my past self tell you?"

"That I need to get rid of you, and that you're evil."

"It's the truth you know."

Dan glanced over at Divina, while he lay in mid air. His leg was crossed over the other in a bored fashion. Divina laid upon the twin sized bed her body sprawled out across it.  After agreeing to help Divina, he found an abandoned apartment.

"I know, but where will I go if I can't stay here with you?"

"You make it sound like you want to be here."

"It's better than being with the men who killed my parents."

Dan watched Divina for a moment, before he hovered over her his legs then touched the floor, as he kneeled next to her. Divina eyed him warily she wasn't sure of his intentions. He then gently took hold of her neck, and started to slowly add pressure causing Divina to get frightened.

"I could easily kill you now. Still think this is a better choice?" Dan smirked, as the fear in Divina's eyes grew with each passing moment.

Divina strained to answer Dan, but it was very difficult for her at first.

"Y-Yes. I-I understand."

Dan let go of the girl, before he hovered above Divina his smirk still present.

"You amuse me. I can threaten you all I want, and it won't change your mind." He chuckled.

"Guess there's something about you that draws me in." Divina suggested with a shrug of both shoulders.

Dan turned his head away closing his eyes in the process.  His smirk no longer was on his lips, as he crossed his arms behind his head using it as a pillow. His leg crossed over the other again, as his cape hung down almost touching Divina's form.  "Maybe."

Divina turned over to lay on her stomach shutting her eyes. She thought about what Danny had told her, and thought over about her decision with staying with Dan. She didn't have a choice though, she made a deal with Dan, and she must honor that deal.
